Vox

Vox are an orignally English company (currently owned by Japanese firm Korg) founded by Thomas Walter Jennings in Dartford, UK. They are well known mostly for the creation of the AC30 amplifier and the Vox Continental Electric Organ.

Vox - Beginnings and their rise to fame

Vox was founded by Thomas Walter Jennings. His first popular and successful product was the Univox, a self-powered electronic keyboard, which was virtually unknown at the time.

In 1958 the AC15 amplifier was released and then adopted by 'The Shadows' and other British rock'n'roll musicians.

It was in 1959, however, that Vox had their first real mega-success. This came with the production of the AC30 amplifier, which was ultimately used by hugely famous bands such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Kinks. In later years other bands such as Queen, The Jam, U2 and Radiohead have all used AC30s in their set-up.
