First of all I consider myself a musician but my love of the violin extends to a passion for violins and building a collection of these amazing pieces of musical artistry and craftsmanship.
Showcasing a selection of wonderful antique violins made in Italy primarily and also exceptional instruments made in other countries. These are also available to purchase at http://www.virtuosiviolins/ at very reasonable prices.
Although I aim to make a profit on sales of violins from the collection, this is purely with the objective of re-investing it in further instruments that will expand and improve the quality of the collection.
In all dealings conscience and integrity are placed above even reputation, let alone monetary considerations.
One of the great pleasures for me is when someone who has bought a violin contacts me back to say how much they like their new violin and how happy it makes them. That is so rewarding for me and indeed is as important to me as the pleasure that I myself derive from being able to play these wonderful instruments myself - which in itself is an opportunity I feel really blessed to have.
Even just picking up a violin that is 200 or 300 years old is something special - sensing all the hands it has passed through, all the music it has performed, all the events that it has seen unfold before it that now forms part of our history and heritage. That is something very special. And then you play upon this instrument, adding another chapter to its illustrious past while basking in the rainbow of resonant tones emanating from it. A great privilege - and one that I hope you will all have the opportunity to experience.
