Randall

Randall Amplifiers are known for their high-gain and metal sounds, and are associated mainly with artists such as Kirk Hammett of Metallica and Kurt Cobain of Nirvana. Originally focusing on solid-state technology, Randall has produced a line of high-gain tube amps in recent years

Founder Don Randall was a key part of the success of Fender, where he became president in 1953. Don Randall is responsible for having come up with the names Esquire, Telecaster, Broadcaster, Stratocaster, Precision Bass, Twin Reverb and Bassman.

In 1969, after the sale of fender to CBS, Randall left Fender to start Randall Amplifiers, which focused on the new technology of solid state amplifiers rather than tube. Randall was sold to Washburn (US Music Corp) in 1995.
