Interview: Pur Cajon Manufaktur

At Musikmesse 2018, there was no shortage of toys for our percussionist friends. One company who caught our eye was Austrian cajon manufacturer PUR Cajon.

Though there are hundreds of cheap cajon models on the market today, PUR has a focus on high quality mixed with innovation. All of their products are handmade in Salzburg.

A main feature is having the sounds separated in order to have a clear bass and snare sound. You can even turn the snare on and off on some models.

They also use specially modified condenser microphones as their pickup, which tames feedback. It is also sold separately if you want to add a pickup to your cajon.
