Seagull Guitars
The Story of Seagull Guitars
In 1982 Robert Godin produced the first Seagull guitars in the Village of LaPatrie, Quebec.
The concept for the Seagull Guitar was to pluck out each of the essential components of the best hand-crafted guitars (e.g Solid tops and beautiful finishes) and to build guitars with these features in the price range of your average working musicians.
Seagull Guitars factory can be found in the small village of LaPatrie located amongst the Eastern Townships of the province of Quebec, where for more than a quarter century the crafting of Seagull guitars has been a true passion for many of the local inhabitants. Today, LaPatrie has a population of about 750 and about one third of these people are a part of the guitar building team. These locals take a great deal of pride in the guitars they build and it has become a proud talking point for all involved.
Seagull Guitars - Authenticity
All Seagull guitars are Made In Canada. This is a claim that Seagull takes very seriously and are very proud that they can say with integrity. All Seagull guitars are made in Canada from start to finish, by sustainably sourced wood, working with only hydro-electric in their production plants and forresteries with strict replanting plans. Through vigorously chasing these criteria, Segull Guitars, have minimised their footprint on the world.
