PRS - Paul Reed Smith

Paul Reed Smith is a guitarist and master luthier who opened up shop in 1985 in Stevensville, Maryland, USA. PRS is famous for their high-end electric guitars. Carlos Santana and Gustavo Cerati are the two most well known endorsors of PRS guitars.

The company started when Paul was in college. A guitarist and a fan of building guitars in his spare time, notable guitarists had started to use his guitars (totally handbuilt at the time) such as Howard Leese and Derek St. Holmes. However, it was when Carlos Santana began using his guitars that PRS got his big break. 

By the end of 1998, PRS was producing 700 guitars a month with a staff of over 110 people.
